Privacy policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
This policy explains how TideyTap Cleaning (“TideyTap,” “we”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit tideytap.com, book a service, apply to work with us, or contact us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
Information we collect
When you book or contact us
- Contact details: name, email, phone number.
- Service details: service address, home or vehicle details, the services and add-ons you choose, scheduling, notes, pets.
- Entry instructions: how to get in (for example, a lockbox or gate code). We encrypt these at rest and show them only to the pro assigned to your visit, and only shortly before it.
- Payment information: your card is collected and stored by Stripe. We receive limited details such as card brand, last four digits and expiration date. We never see or store your full card number.
- Communications and feedback: messages, ratings, reviews and tips.
When you apply to work with us
- Your application (name, contact details, ZIP code, experience, availability, how you heard about us).
- If you move forward, identity and background check results from a consumer reporting agency. These checks happen only with your separate written authorization, and you’ll receive the disclosures and rights required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act and state law.
- Employment and tax information if you are hired.
Automatically
- Security data: IP address and browser information, used to prevent fraud and abuse. We store IP addresses only in a one-way hashed form.
- Cookies: one essential cookie that keeps you signed in to your account. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots, which may process device signals. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To provide, schedule and complete the services you book, and to process payments, tips, refunds and fees.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, receipts and service messages, and, if you opt in, text messages.
- To review job applications, run background checks with your authorization, and manage employment.
- To keep customers, pros and our systems safe, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve our services and to comply with law, taxes and accounting.
Who we share it with
- The pro doing your job: your first name, the service details, and, shortly before the visit, the address, entry instructions and phone number.
- Service providers who work for us under contract: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Stripe (payments), our email provider, Quo (business phone and text), and background check providers for applicants. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of customers, pros, the public or TideyTap.
- Business transfers: if TideyTap is involved in a merger or sale, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not share mobile numbers or text message consent with anyone for their marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for up to 7 years for tax and accounting. We keep applicant records for up to 2 years after a decision unless you are hired or the law requires longer. Sign-in links expire within 20 minutes; security logs are kept for a short period. You can ask us to delete information we don’t need to keep.
Security
We use encryption in transit, encrypt entry instructions at rest, restrict staff access to people who need it, and put our office tools behind Cloudflare Access sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away at TideyTapCleaning@tideytap.com if you suspect a problem.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion: email TideyTapCleaning@tideytap.com from the address on your account. We’ll verify your request and respond within 45 days.
- Marketing: unsubscribe from any marketing email with the link in it. Service messages about your bookings will still be sent.
- Texts: reply STOP to any text to opt out. See our Text message terms.
- California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of sale or sharing (we don’t sell or share); to limit use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to provide services); and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. You can use an authorized agent. California’s “Shine the Light” law lets you ask whether we disclose information to third parties for their direct marketing; we don’t.
- Global Privacy Control: we treat a browser GPC signal as a request to opt out of sale and sharing.
- Other states: residents of states with privacy laws, including Texas, Colorado, Virginia and others, have similar rights. Contact us to use them; if we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals other than GPC, because there is no common standard for them.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We’ll post updates here and change the date above. If changes are significant, we’ll let customers know by email.
